ECU Overview

The Elite 550 is a simple yet powerful ECU ideal for basic 4 to 8-cylinder or 1-2-rotor engine applications. Suitable for both naturally aspirated and forced induction engines, the Elite 550 provides full control over fuel delivery, ignition timing, and boost levels. This robust, competitively priced ECU features an environmentally sealed, waterproof case, 4 fuel and 4 ignition channels, and a 4 BAR internal MAP sensor. The Elite 550 ECU is now paired with the new Nexus Software Programmer (NSP), bringing unprecedented functionality and user-friendliness to engine control.

ECU Functions:

  • O2 Control: Closed loop with long-term learning for precise tuning (with optional external CAN O2 Wideband Controller Kit).
  • Boost Control: Closed loop with learning, flexible user-definable axis, and 6 fully user-definable correction modes (e.g., boost by gear, road speed).
  • Flex Fuel Function: Direct sensor input for tuning boost, fuel, and ignition by ethanol content.
  • Injector Control: Low impedance injector control with programmable peak and hold currents.
  • Idle Speed Control: Closed loop, requiring 1 or 2 user-defined outputs (BAC type).
  • Data Logging: On-board and laptop data logging for all available channels, useful for tuning and diagnostics.
  • CAN Bus Communication: For Haltech dashes and expansion devices or OBDII.
  • Injection Stages: 1 to 2 stages, suitable for rotary engines.

Advanced Tuning:

  • Tuning Table Resolution: Up to 32 x 16.
  • Flexibility: Tune using 3D tables combined with 3D per cylinder compensations and multiple user-definable corrections.
  • Multiple Parameters: Tune by manifold pressure, throttle position, cam position, ethanol content, gear, road speed, race time, EGT, shock travel, ride height, or any channel.
  • Per Cylinder Tuning: 3D per cylinder correction.
  • Wideband O2: Connect up to 3 channels via CAN expansion devices.
  • Thermocouples/EGT: Connect up to 12 channels via external CAN expansion devices.
  • Variable Cam Control: Independently control up to 2 camshafts (requires a minimum of 1 user-defined input and output per variable cam).
